Joan French, media and Randy Rohn, creative, were two of the five judges for the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) Fifth District National Student Addy Competition (NSAC).
The presentations were held in Lexington, Kentucky on April 18.
There were twelve colleges and universities competing in this year’s district contest. The students were given a real-life marketing problem from a major corporation and asked to come up with a marketing/advertising plan that included creative, media, public relations, viral marketing ideas and even ideas about how to alter the product or service if, by doing so, would enhance the marketing efforts.
“We saw some extraordinary talent and great ideas during the competition,” Rohn said.
“Some of the work was astonishing,” he added.
“I was really impressed with the student work. It re-energized me,” said French.
The winner of the district NSAC will now move on to the national competition in Atlanta, Georgia.
